What we collect
- Ticket details you provide — violation code, summons number, plate, dates, and the notes you type — so we can show odds and draft your letter.
- Plate lookups — when you search a plate, your browser queries the City of New York's public open-data portal directly. We do not store your plate from a lookup. Your plate and email are stored only when you enroll in Watchdog or in the free plate watch.
- Watchdog enrollment — if you enroll, we store your email address and plate(s) so we can draft dispute letters for tickets on up to 3 plates while your subscription is active. Watchdog covers dispute letters only — it does not include new-ticket monitoring. The free plate watch is separate: enroll with your email and plate and we check NYC open data daily, emailing you when a new ticket appears on that plate — every alert carries a one-click unsubscribe.
- Beat — your messages, our replies, your IP address, and any abuse flags are logged for rate limiting, abuse prevention, and quality review. Messages are processed by our AI provider (Cloudflare Workers AI) to generate replies.
- Your email address — only if you ask us to email your odds, enroll in Watchdog, buy a letter, or join the email-reports launch list. We use it to deliver what you asked for and for transactional messages (receipts, delivery).
- Ticket photos — used once, on the spot, to read your ticket. Photos are discarded after reading; we keep only the extracted details.
- Basic technical data — IP address (to enforce free-lookup and chat rate limits) and standard request logs.
What we don't do
- We never sell your personal information.
- We never send marketing email without your explicit opt-in. Your free-tier email is for the email-reports launch list only.
- We don't run ads on your data or share it with data brokers.
Payments
Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card number — Stripe sends us only the payment confirmation.
Unsubscribe & deletion
Every email we send includes a one-click unsubscribe link. To delete your data entirely, email [email protected] with the subject "Delete my TicketBeat data" and we'll remove your captures, watchers, orders, and letters within 30 days.
Data retention
Free-tier captures are kept for 24 months. Paid orders and generated letters are kept for 7 years for tax and record-keeping, then deleted. Beat transcripts are kept for up to 24 months for abuse prevention and quality review. Watchdog records are kept while your subscription is active — cancelling from the link in your receipt emails or on the cancel page (ticketbeat.mehyar.us/cancel) stops dispute-letter coverage and ends renewal (unsubscribing from emails is separate: it stops the emails, not your subscription); the record is then kept only in deactivated form so we honor your cancellation, and is deleted on request.
